In April of 2010, I began writing a series of Music Show recaps - KBS Music Bank, MBC Music Core, and SBS Inkigayo. My recaps focus on idols. These shows define the Korean music industry - if you are a somebody from an agency with a name, you perform on these shows. Week in and week out, the shows feature everyone from big-names to aspiring big-names - in simple terms this is the entire Korean music industry in 2 hours a day, 3 days a week.
Last year, I wrote:
"In line with my want for PRN to be THE leading critical kpop review blog, if not the only one, I think it's time for me to think bigger and better - out of my so-called "comfort zone" of single, album and EP reviews and into the world of Korean music shows."
And it's safe to say that I did become one of the leading critical kpop review blogs - these recaps appear on top of nearly a hundred google search terms, and continue to. During its 3-month run last year, Pop Reviews Now experienced the highest number of monthly visitors, before December 2010. With the return of these weekly recaps this 2011, I expect PRN to expand to even wider audiences, but retain the readers that made this series so successful.
