# 41: Katharine McPhee - Connected

Setting aside the fact that this song was for a Barbie soundtrack, Connected is one of the best songs in it's category this year and it's probably in my over-all top ten.

Katharine McPhee has one of the most gorgeous voices in my opinion. Her voice is very smooth and clean(kind of like a non-country Carrie Underwood..) and it matches these kinds of songs.

Connected is kind of pop/rock-y but it has some hints of R&B beats in it(at least that's what I'm hearing..) and it fit's Katharine's voice like a glove. The song has got all these electric hints going on as well throughout the song, and I think it gives the song that bit of a rock-y edge that it needs. Amazing!

Amy Diamond recorded a version for the Swedish soundtrack but I'm not so convinced, she doesn't have the smooth yet powerful voice you need for something like this to work amazingly.

I mean, the song itself is a masterpiece but I'm just not convinced with Amy Diamond's version.
